How many days should I spend in Chengdu?

3-4 days is the perfect amount of time to experience the best of Chengdu without rushing.

Day 1: Pandas and Ancient Culture
- Morning: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (arrive at 8:00 AM)
- Afternoon: Wuhou Shrine and Jinli Ancient Street
- Evening: Dinner at Jinli Street

Day 2: History and Modern Chengdu
- Morning: Du Fu Thatched Cottage
- Afternoon: Wide and Narrow Alleys (Kuanzhai Xiangzi)
- Evening: Sichuan Opera face-changing show

Day 3: Food and Local Life
- Morning: People's Park and teahouse experience
- Afternoon: Chunxi Road shopping district
- Evening: Authentic Sichuan hotpot dinner

Day 4 (Optional): Day Trip
- Leshan Giant Buddha (full day)
- Or Mount Qingcheng (full day)

For shorter visits:
- 2 days: Focus on pandas, Jinli Street, and hotpot
- 1 day: Panda Base and Jinli Street only

For longer stays:
- 5-7 days: Add day trips to Jiuzhaigou, Mount Emei, or Dujiangyan Irrigation System

Chengdu is a city best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Don't try to cram too much into each day - leave time for spontaneous discoveries and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.
