Is autumn a good time to visit Chengdu?

For most first-time visitors, autumn is the safest Chengdu answer.

- the city asks for fewer weather compromises than winter or summer

What makes it especially good for first-timers:
- Panda Base mornings still work well
- food neighborhoods feel better to explore
- you do not need to hide from the middle of the day as aggressively as in summer
- a balanced 3 to 5 day route is easier to build

What to keep in mind:
- popular periods can mean more crowds and higher hotel pressure
- Chengdu can still have gray or damp days, even in the easier seasons
