What I would do in December:
- Keep the Panda Base as an early morning anchor
- Build afternoons around food, tea, museums, and historic areas
- Pack layers and shoes that handle damp pavement

If you want bright-weather walking and the easiest first-time Chengdu answer, I would still lean toward spring or autumn. If you care more about calmer pacing and lower prices, December can be a smart choice.
